Settings › Storage › Facilities lists the places you keep customers' goods, and how each one bills its tenants.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. You must always have one default facility — new tenants go to it.
The list
Add New Storage (top right) opens an empty facility window. Each facility shows its address, phone and email, with:
- Default Storage — choosing another facility as default asks first (The current default will be unset.).
- Active — switching it off asks first when it has active tenants: they stay, but you can't add new tenants there. The default can't be switched off.
- Clone — a new facility with everything this one has; its window opens so you change what differs and save.
- Edit and Delete (asks first; the default can't be deleted).
The facility window
One Save at the bottom writes everything; the window stays open and says Storage Facility saved successfully. Problems show under their fields, all at once.
Storage Information tab
- The facility — Internal Storage Name, Storage Display Name (Customer portal), address (the ZIP fills City and State), Phone 1, Phone 2, Email.
- Pricing — How it is priced: Price/Vault (with Location Type — Location or Grid — Max CuFt/Vault and Price/Vault) or By Unit (with Move Unit and Storage Rate); Tax; Minimum Billable Days per Cycle.
- Billing Schedule — Prorate to the 1st prorates the first bill from the move-in date to the first of the next month; Always collect full balance.
- Price increases — raise the price after a number of Months, by Increase amount and Increase type (Add New Increase).
- Stays and free months — Free months, Apply free storage to month:, Make free storage months recurring, Max duration of storage stays.
- Terms — When we will apply late fee (days after the bill) and Late Fee Amount; Net Payment Terms: Due upon receipt or Net with Net payment days.
Copy to All Storage Facilities puts this facility's storage rate on every facility, after asking — this one writes at once.
Bill Template, Reminder 1…, Late Fee Template tabs
Each holds the email and the text sent with the bill, each reminder (Days after the storage bill) and the late fee. Pick an existing storage template or + Write a new email / text, then write its name, subject and words; Send automatically decides whether it goes on its own. The + on a reminder tab adds another reminder after it; the × removes one (Reminder 1 stays).
Communications tab — the facility's own mailbox, once the facility is saved.
If something goes wrong
- You must have one default storage facility. If you wish to make this one inactive, please select another facility as your default facility.
- To remove this facility as your default, please select another storage facility to set as your new default first.
- Please add at least one template block — an email written in blocks needs at least one block.
- Failed to copy storage rate to all facilities
