Long-distance method
Choose which kind of tariff prices long-distance moves for each move type — mileage, 400N-style, single factor, cubic foot, flat rate or regions.

Settings › Long distance › Method decides how long-distance moves are priced, one choice per move type.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. There is no Save button: the choice saves as you make it.
A new company prices long distance by Mileage, with a ready "Standard Mileage" tariff (by weight, per 100 lbs) marked active for every move type.
The methods
- Mileage — a rate per distance range and size range, by weight or by volume.
- 400N-style — line haul per 100 lbs by mileage band and weight bracket, a minimum weight, a discount off the tariff, and accessorial sections.
- Single Factor Rate — one all-inclusive rate per 100 lbs by distance band (or state to state), or a percent off another of your tariffs.
- Cubic Foot — a rate per cubic foot by distance band, with a minimum size and minimum charge.
- Flat Rate LD — a flat price by move size and distance band.
- Regions Tariff — prices by route between states, regions or area codes.
A method can be picked only once the move type has an Is Active tariff of that kind. The chosen kind's active tariff is the company default and prices the move type's orders; an order can still be priced by another tariff in its long-distance details.
The Every move type card shows the method each move type you take is priced by.
Copy
Copy to other move types asks first (CONFIRMATION) and then copies at once — Copied to the other move types.
If something goes wrong
- There is no active … tariff for this move type. Mark one "Is Active" on the … page first. — open that tariff page and switch one on.
- A red alert shows when the move type has no active mileage tariff at all.
