Payment & processing fees
The credit card fee, the cash discount, your own payment types with their fees, which payments carry the fee, and which ways to pay the bill of lading offers.

Settings › Payments & billing › Payment & processing fees sets what a payment adds or takes off. How fees work when you take a payment — and who may take one off — is in Card fees and cash discount.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. Edits wait for Save; adding and deleting a payment type happen at once.
The cards
Standard Payment Fees — Configure credit card fees and cash discounts used for customer payments.
- The credit card fee and the cash discount, each with a Name, an Amount (in % or $, as stored) and Enabled.
Custom Payment Methods — your own ways to pay (Venmo, Clover…), each with Enabled, Show on bill of lading, and its own processing fee (Processing fee name, Amount, Enabled).
- Add Payment Method opens New Custom Payment (a Payment name and Enabled). It starts with no fee and switched off.
- The bin deletes a payment type after Are you sure you want to delete?
Charge processing fees for payments made: — where the fee is added: the deposit the customer pays on their page, a deposit taken in the order window, payments on the order's sales tab, payments on its closing tab, and more.
Display credit card fee — whether the card fee shows on the customer's page.
Show payment on Bill of lading — Which ways to pay the crew can take on the bill of lading (the same switches as Payments on the bill of lading).
If something goes wrong
Fix the fields marked in red first. — a name or amount is missing or wrong.
