Services
The services you sell — local move, loading help, packing day, long distance and more — how each is priced, whether customers see it, its colour and its order.

Settings › Services & packing › Services is the list of services an order can be: Local Move, Loading Help, Packing Day, Moving with Storage, Long Distance… Each one says how MoveBoard prices it.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. Nothing is saved until you press Save.
A new company starts with thirteen ready services — Local Move, Moving with Storage, Overnight Storage, Loading Help, Unloading Help, Packing Day, Pick-Up Day, Delivery Day, Packing & Loading Day, Unpacking Day, Junk Removal, and Long Distance Interstate / Intrastate — with long distance priced by the long-distance tariffs.
The columns
| Column | What it does |
|---|---|
| Active | The service can be picked on orders. An inactive service can't be changed except to switch it back on. |
| Service name | What the office, crew and customer read. |
| Type of calculation | How it's priced: Local Moving, Overnight Storage, Loading Help, Unloading Help, Moving & Storage, Packing Day, Long Distance Interstate Move or Long Distance Intrastate Move. |
| Pointed To Service | Price it like another kind of service (for example a "Pick-Up Day" priced as Loading Help). |
| Show on forms | Customers can pick it on your website form. |
| Color | The colour the service is shown in across MoveBoard (any colour but white). |
| Labor only | Local, loading and unloading services only: the order's move card offers a labor only switch (no truck). |
Change the list
- Add service puts a new row at the top.
- Drag a row (or use ▲▼) to change the order services are offered in.
- Delete asks first (Warning › Yes, Delete).
- Press Save.
Changing how a service is priced
You can change Type of calculation, Pointed To Service or Labor only at any time. If orders use that service, Save asks first (Change how this service is priced? › Yes, Save). Existing orders keep the way they were priced; orders made from then on use the new setting.
If something goes wrong
- This field is required — a row needs a name and a type of calculation.
- Name is already use — two services can't share a name.
- Use a colour like #1e88e5. / White cannot be a service colour.
- A banner lists any service made in the last month that is missing its bill of lading, order for service or email template — set those up so the service works end to end.
