Move type names

MoveBoard has three move types: Residential, Commercial and Military. Settings › Sales & orders › Move type names lets you call them something else — for example "Household", "Office" or "Senior moves".

Before you start

Anyone who can open Settings can change the names. The same three name boxes are also in the Move types card of Company info.

Rename a move type

1. 1Open Settings › Sales & orders › Move type names.
2. 2Type the new name in the box beside Residential moves, Commercial moves or Military moves. The standard name is shown faintly in an empty box.
3. 3Press Save.

To go back, press Use the standard name under the box and save.

What changes

Only the word. Orders keep their move type, and every setting kept per move type — rates, calendars, flags, numbering, forms, lead assignment — stays exactly as it is.

The new name shows at once in the tab you saved from, and on other screens the next time they load: order windows and lists, reports, the calendar and dispatch, the customer's page, the website forms, the crew's phone, documents, and emails and texts (the move type variable in your templates).

If something goes wrong

A name in red says what to fix:

• A move type needs a name.
• Up to 30 characters.
• A name cannot have < or > in it.
• … is already called that. — two move types can't share a name.

Saving with a red name shows Fix the names marked in red first.
