Mileage tariff

Settings › Long distance › Mileage tariff holds your mileage tariffs. A tariff is a grid: a row per distance range, a column per size range (weight or volume), a rate in each cell.

Before you start

Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. Tariffs are kept per move type (pick it at the top).

The list

Click a tariff to open its rates. The active one is the company default for this move type. Each row shows Tariff Name, Tariff Type and Is Active. The Is Active switch saves at once; switching the active one off leaves the move type with none.

Create New Tariff asks for:

• Tariff Name (up to 32 characters).
• Priced by — By Weight (lbs) or By Volume (CuFt).
• Price Is Per — for example 100 lbs.
• Starting Distance and Starting Size.

Press Create, then open the tariff to fill in its rates.

Inside a tariff

• The grid: type a rate into a cell; it saves by itself when you leave the box. After each column a read-only BP (breakpoint) shows the size from which the next column's rate gives the lower price.
• Basic Info — the name and the fields above.
• Miles Ranges / Lbs Ranges (or CuFt) — a drawer to edit where each range starts. When editing a number, you can also press 'enter' to quickly add more rows. The tariff is saved when the drawer closes, if something changed.
• Refresh reads the tariff again.
• Fuel — Fuel: automatic (DOE) follows the government's weekly diesel price and a table of price bands, or Fixed %. An order takes the percent in effect on its pickup date and keeps it once booked.
• The back arrow returns to the list.

Good to know

Extra pickups, stairs, elevators, long carry and shuttles are priced on Extra fees, not in the tariff. Which kind of tariff prices a move type is chosen on Method.

If something goes wrong

• Please fix error below! — a range box is wrong; the drawer stays open until it's fixed.
• The value must be numeric — on the create form.
• That did not go through. Nothing was changed.
