Long-distance extra fees
What a long-distance move adds for extra pickups and drop-offs, stairs, elevators, long carry and shuttles — and the most extra distance you allow.

Settings › Long distance › Extra fees sets the extra charges on a long-distance move priced by a tariff that doesn't include them.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. It is kept per move type (pick it at the top). There is no Save button: a box saves when you leave it with a different number, a choice at once. A rate left blank or at 0 is saved as 0.01.
The cards
Extra pickup and delivery rates — 2nd or 3rd pickup price option and 2nd or 3rd delivery price option
- Per distance, an Extra Pickup Fee (measured from the origin) and an Extra Drop-off Fee (from the destination).
- Don't allow more than — Largest extra pickup distance and Largest extra drop-off distance. 0 means no limit. A distance above the maximum, or the same distance twice, shows a heads-up but still saves.
Floors: stairs and elevator — Charge for the floor you are moving from and to
- Charge for the floor you are moving from / to — the origin, the destination, or both.
- Stairs — the Starting floor, then Stairs rate per 100 cu ft or Stairs flat rate per flight.
- Elevator — Elevator rate per 100 cu ft or Elevator flat rate per flight, and Elevator floor groups that charge more from higher floors. A new company starts with 6–10 $25, 11–20 $40, 21–30 $60, 31–50 $90 and 51–200 $125 per elevator stop. With no groups, the elevator is charged the same on every floor.
Long carry charges — A walk from the home to the truck, or from the truck to the new home, longer than a distance
- Long carry starts at, feet, then Long carry rate per 100 cu ft or Long carry flat fee per 30 ft.
Shuttle charges — When a smaller truck carries the goods to or from the big one
- Minimum shuttle charge and Additional shuttle charge per 100 cu ft.
Copy to other move types asks first (CONFIRMATION), then copies at once.
