A referral link is a personal short link (and QR code) you give a partner — a realtor, a stager, a property manager, or a past customer who sends friends. A customer who opens it lands on your quote form, and the quote is linked to that partner's account automatically: no typing, no matching, no task for the office. It is the standard way to track referrals; everything on Referrals (the lead API's referral fields, the forms' Someone referred me, the office's Referred by) stays as the backup.

Links work while Referrals is on for the branch (Settings › Affiliates › Referrals — switch on Link referred leads to partner accounts).

  1. Go to Settings › Affiliates › Referral links.
  2. Press New link (top right).
  3. Partner account: type the partner's name, company, email or phone and pick the account. (No account yet? Make it first in Accounts.)
  4. Label: who it is for, e.g. John Smith – Compass Realty. The Address name is made from it (john-smith-compass-realty); you can change it. Under it you see the whole link.
  5. Quote form it opens: Short form, Long form or Single page form.
  6. Optional: Service — the form opens with that service picked (The customer picks leaves it to them).
  7. Press Create link.

You can also make links from the partner's account: open the account, and in the Referred moves card press New link.

Share it

Each link shows its address with a copy button, and:

  • QR code — the code for the link. Tick Your logo in the middle to put your company logo in it. PNG and SVG download it (for flyers, open-house signs, business cards); Print prints it with the label and the address.
  • Email — writes to the partner from MoveBoard: their email, a subject and a message with [REFERRAL_LINK] and [REFERRAL_QR_CODE], which become this link and its QR code when it goes. Press Send. The email is kept in the account's Messages.

The link is your company's own short link: on your website's address when your website opens MoveBoard links, otherwise MoveBoard's.

What happens when a customer opens it

  • They land on your quote form — over your website's page, or on a quote page with your logo when the link is not on your website.
  • The quote they send is linked to the partner's account: Referred by on the order shows the partner with a Referral link tag, the partner's Referred moves card counts it, and so does the Referral Performance report.
  • 30 days: if they leave and come back later through your website's quote form (in the page or in a frame), within 30 days, it still counts. The last link or ad they came through wins — a newer referral link, or one of your ads clicked afterwards, takes the credit, the same way your ad reports count.
  • Source: a customer who skips How did you hear about us? gets your referral source (a lead source whose name says "referral", e.g. Customer Referral; with none, Referral) — never the form's first source. A source the customer picks stays theirs.
  • A referral link always wins over what a customer types in Someone referred me.
  • A customer never refers themselves: a partner's own quote through their own link is not credited to them.

The numbers

Every link shows Clicks, Leads, Conversion (leads per click), Booked (with the share of leads booked) and Booked value; the box at the top adds up every active link. A click is counted once per browser a day, never for link previews (a link pasted in a text or a chat) or bots, and nothing about the person is kept. The same numbers are on the partner's account, and Reports › Referral Performance can show them per link: set Group by to Referral link.

Change, pause or delete

  • Edit (the pencil): the label, the address name, the form and the service. Changing the address name changes the link: links and QR codes already shared with the old one stop crediting the partner.
  • Pause (‖): the link stops crediting and counting until you Turn it back on (▶). A customer who opens it still reaches your quote form.
  • Delete (the bin): the link stops crediting and counting for good. Its numbers and the moves it brought stay on the account and in the report, and its address name is never given to another link. Tick Show deleted to see deleted links.

Search finds links by label, address name or partner. Making and changing links needs the Edit accounts permission or the settings permission; anyone who can open accounts can see them.
