Settings › Pricing & calculator › Travel Time decides how the time on the road is charged on an hourly move. Every leg, the examples and the "Way" choices are explained in Travel time and truck speed.
Before you start
Anyone who can open Settings can change this page. Nothing is saved until you press Save. Four switches turn each other off: Double drive time can't be on together with the travel time charge, Travel Time from Origin to Destination or Driving time; and Driving time and Travel Time from Origin to Destination can't both be on.
The cards
Travel Time Charge — Configure how customers are charged for travel time.
- Enable Travel Time Charge, and its Customer-Facing Label.
- Minimum Travel Time — the least travel you charge.
- Charge By — Actual travel time, or Flat rate (a ZIP code, a radius and a Time: moves inside it get that fixed travel time).
- Display Travel Time Charge — show travel as its own line on estimates and documents.
- Travel Time from Origin to Destination — include the drive between the pickup and the destination.
Truck Average Speed — every leg takes its distance at this speed, never less than Google's driving time. Blank means Google's time. A new company starts at 50 mph (80 km/h in Canada).
Driving time — Add the drive to the travel time on longer trips, once the trip is longer than Start charge from distance (use 0 to always include). A new company starts at 90 miles.
Double drive time — Charge the drive between the addresses twice, with its Label and Min Double Drive Time.
How the trip is measured — Way 1 (one direction: Shortest, Longest, From C to A, From B to C), Way 2 (C to A plus B to C), Way 3 (all of it) or Way 4 (A to B). A is the origin, B the destination, C your company (parking) address.
Coming soon — Charging travel by mileage is shown switched off; it can't be used yet.
If something goes wrong
- ZIP/Postal format: 12345 or A1A 1A1 — the flat-rate ZIP code.
When it changes
Open orders are repriced with the new truck speed in the background; quotes the customer already accepted keep their price. See When a settings change reprices orders.
