On this page
The Addresses section shows the move the way the day runs: your office, the start address, any stops in between, the destination, and back to the office. Between each pair you see the miles and minutes, and a small box with the day's totals. The map icon opens the whole route in Google Maps.
Change an address
Every address is a card you edit in place:
- Street address — start typing and pick the match.
- Apt — up to five characters.
- ZIP — the city and state fill in from the ZIP: the ZIP's own post-office town (01922 is Newbury, MA). When other towns share the ZIP (Byfield), they're offered to pick. Press the search icon to look the ZIP up again. The Order Updates list shows the address exactly as it will be saved.
- Stop type — under the letter: Pickup, Drop-Off or Pickup & Drop-Off.
A small gold dot on a card means it's changed but not saved yet. Press SAVE on the order to keep it.
Details that change the price
Each card has four drop-downs. The first is for your records; the other three feed the calculator, so the price changes as soon as you pick:
| Drop-down | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Property type | What kind of place it is (house, apartment, storage…). Your list is in Settings › Sales & orders › Property types. |
| Floor or entrance | Ground Floor, a number of flights of stairs, or an elevator. With an elevator you also pick the floor — see Elevator floors. |
| Distance from and to parking | How far the crew walks between the truck and the door. |
| Parking type | Where the truck will park. |
Add a stop
- Press the + between two addresses.
- Fill in the new stop in the pop-up — a ZIP code alone is enough.
- Press Save in the pop-up. The card slides into place and the letters move on.
- Press SAVE on the order.
Extra stops can add a fee — see Extra stop fees.
Reorder or remove a stop
- Reorder — drag a card by its six dots to another place in the day. The route and price update straight away.
- Remove — press the bin icon on the card, then Take this stop off and re-route (or Keep it).
- The Start and the Destination can't be removed — a move needs both, so their cards have no bin. Only extra stops (extra pickups and extra drop-offs) can be removed. It goes by position: drag an extra stop to the front and it becomes the Start (no bin), and the stop it pushed into the middle gets a bin.
- A service with one address (Loading Help, Unloading Help, Packing, Moving with Storage) can't lose that address either; extra stops you add to it can be removed.
Both wait for SAVE.
Other buttons on a card
- Map pin — directions to this address on Google Maps.
- Zillow — opens the address on Zillow (once it has a street). With an apartment, you choose with or without it.
- COI — whether the building needs a Certificate Of Insurance, and whether it's been sent. Press it to add the building's contact and instructions.
- Time window — a building's moving-hours restriction ("No time window restriction" until you set one), with start time, end time and a comment.
When the move changes from local to long distance
If an address change makes the move long distance (or local again), MoveBoard asks you straight away. See When a move becomes long distance.
