Profit on this job

See what a job really made — revenue, payroll, materials, trucks and fuel — on the closing side of the order.

On the closing side of the order window, next to the job tracker, the Profit card shows the job's profit, its percent of revenue, and the revenue and cost totals. On a phone it sits under the tracker.

Only people who may see payroll see this card.

Press the card. Profit on this job opens with every line and where its figure came from:

Revenue — starts from the Closing total, then takes off what passes through to someone else:

  • Credit card fees (to the card processor)
  • Taxes (to the state)
  • Tips (to the crew — cash tips aren't on the bill, so they're not counted)

Costs:

LineHow it's worked out
Payroll (excluding tips)Every payroll on the order's days — crew and the salesperson's commission — less the tip lines.
Materials (our cost)What each packing material costs you (from Packing materials › Our cost) × the quantity used. Never the price the customer paid.
Truck costEach truck's monthly cost, spread over the days of the month and the working hours of a truck's day (12 unless you set it), × the day's labor and travel hours.
FuelThe day's miles (yard to yard) ÷ the truck's miles per gallon × that week's diesel price for your region.

Profit = Revenue − all costs, with its percent of revenue.

When a figure is missing

MoveBoard never puts a silent zero in. If something isn't set up — a truck's monthly cost, a material's cost, a day's payroll not made yet — that line shows —, says what's missing, and links to where you set it. The profit is worked out from the lines that do have a figure, and says which were left out.

The card updates by itself whenever the closing or payroll is saved.
