When a job is finished and paid, you close it. A closed job is Completed and locked, so its numbers can't change by accident. If something does need changing, you reopen it.

Close a job

  1. Open the order and switch to the closing side (VIEW CLOSING INFO).
  2. In the closing bar, press Close order.
  3. Confirm. MoveBoard says Job is closed.

Save any changes first — with unsaved changes MoveBoard says Please save changes.

On a long-distance move, the pickup and the delivery close separately: Close pickup order, then Close delivery order (the delivery can only be closed once the pickup is).

You need the closing permission to see the closing bar.

What a completed job locks

For a completed day, nothing in the order window can be changed on either side: the truck schedule, the Customer card, the Order card, Move Details (including + Add Day), Quote Details and the addresses. Trying says:

This job is completed — reopen it to make changes.

Its status can't be changed either — not from the window, the lists, Ed or the customer's portal.

These stay open on a completed job: the conversation, notes, files and the Payroll card (payroll can always be changed).

On a multi-day move each day locks on its own. The order-wide cards lock once every day is completed.

Reopen a job

  1. On the closing side, hover over Completed ✓ — it turns into Reopen order.
  2. Press it and confirm.

The job goes back to waiting for payment, and everything opens up again. Make your change, save, and close the order again.
