Send to pay — someone else pays from a link
When the person moving isn't the one paying, text and email the payer a secure link from the bill of lading. Their payment shows on your bill the moment it goes through.

Often the customer isn't the one paying — an employer, a family member or a relocation company is. Instead of waiting for the office to send an invoice, send the payer a link from the bill of lading. They pay by card from their own phone or computer, and the payment lands on your bill straight away.
When you see it
When your company (or the office, for this move) has Send to pay on, the cost breakdown shows two buttons where PAY used to be alone:
- PAY — take the payment here, as always (Take payment on the bill).
- Send to pay — send a link to whoever pays (the small button on the right of the same line).
Once nothing is owed, only PAID shows.
Send the link
- Press Send to pay.
- The customer's Mobile number and Email are filled in. Change them to the real payer's — you can send to a phone, an email, or both.
- Amount starts at the balance due. You can lower it (never more than the balance).
- Payments are by card only. If your company charges a card fee, the window shows it right away, for example $1,000.00 + 5% card fee ($50.00) = $1,050.00, and follows the amount as you change it.
- Press Send link.
The payer gets a text from your company's number and an email with a Review and pay button. The order log notes who sent the link, to whom and for how much.
While you wait
Under the buttons: Link for $1,000.00 sent to … · waiting for payment. The bill checks every few seconds. When the payer pays, the bill reads itself again and shows, in green:
Paid remotely by Ann Smith · 10/17/2026, 3:04 PM — $1,155.00 (tip $100.00)
The payment, any tip and the card fee are on the bill and the closing exactly like a card payment you took yourself — the tip is the crew's, as always. Finish the signatures and you're free to go.
Good to know
- You can send a link at any time, not only at the end. Each link always asks for what is left: if the balance dropped (the customer paid part, or another link was paid), the payer is offered the lower amount, and a paid-off move says already paid. Nobody can pay twice.
- Send to pay is for local bills of lading. On a long-distance bill take the payment on the bill itself.
- Don't see the button? Send to pay isn't on for this move — ask the office.
