Basements, elevators and back roads drop the signal. The Mover's Portal is built for it: you can keep reading your jobs and keep filling in the bill, and nothing you did is lost.
When the signal drops
A red bar at the top says Offline — showing what this phone saved. Bill of lading changes are kept and sent when the signal is back.
Reading your jobs with no signal
Your phone saves today's jobs — the jobs list and each of today's jobs — when you sign in, when the signal comes back, and every half hour. Each job screen is also saved as you open it.
- Ready offline on a job row means it's saved and will open with no signal.
- Not saved offline (shown only while you're offline) means it isn't — it won't open until you're back online.
Open today's jobs once while you have signal, and they'll be there in the basement.
Changing the bill with no signal
Everything you do on the bill of lading — times, signatures, materials, services, the submit — is kept on the phone first, then sent in order. A strip on the bill tells you where things stand:
- Offline — will sync. 3 changes saved on this phone.
- Weak signal — 3 changes waiting to sync.
- Syncing 3 changes… — then it disappears.
If you submit the bill with no signal, it says No signal — the contract is saved on this phone and will be submitted when the signal is back. — and sends it after the other changes.
On a long-distance bill and a driver's trip, taps work the same way; waiting ones say Waiting for signal. A long-distance submit needs signal.
What needs signal
- The ETA text — the job doesn't go En Route until the text goes out. See Send the ETA text and go En Route.
- ARRIVED, confirming a schedule, release forms, change orders and taking a card payment.
- Photos upload when there's signal; until then they're kept on the phone.
These say No connection. Try again when you have signal. when they can't go.
Weak signal
When a screen can't load in time you'll see Weak signal — tap to retry — it shows what the phone kept and reads it again when you tap. Weak signal — that was not saved. Try again. means one change didn't go; do it again.
Signed out with changes waiting
If your phone was signed out while changes were waiting, the strip says Signed out — 3 changes saved on this phone. Sign in again to send them. Sign in on the same phone and they're sent.
