Delivery crew texts

What the movers on a long-distance delivery are told when you put them on it — the delivery dates, arrival window, address and crew — and when the text goes.

When a long-distance delivery is set to Delivery by: Local crew, your own crew delivers it — and they need to know where and when. MoveBoard tells them the moment you put them on the delivery.

When it goes

Put a crew on the delivery from Dispatch (drag the crew onto the job, or Assign crew) and save. Everyone newly on the delivery gets a text (or an email) titled New DELIVERY Assignment.

The pickup crew gets your usual New Job Assignment text instead. A long-distance order can have a different crew at each end, and each crew is told about its own day.

What it says

You've been assigned the DELIVERY of a long-distance job:

  • Delivery Date — the delivery block dates when you set them, otherwise the customer's delivery dates.
  • Arrival Window — the delivery arrival from and to times.
  • Delivery Address.
  • The crew's names and Crew Size.

Anything not set yet reads TBD. Set the dates and window on the order's Delivery half first — see Delivery dates and the delivery spread.

When it doesn't go

The same rules as every crew text — see Texts the crew gets:

  • It goes only while your company has an active New Job Assignment template — it uses the same switch.
  • Only for a day that isn't over.
  • The person needs a mobile number (or an email for an email template) and must be an active employee.
  • Nobody is told twice for the same thing.

Taking someone off the delivery sends Job Assignment Removed, saying they're no longer on the delivery of that order.
