Optimize the route
Let MoveBoard find a shorter order for a trip's stops — inside every pickup and delivery spread, with pinned stops kept in place — and see the miles and hours before you accept it.

When a trip carries several orders, the order of the stops decides how many miles the truck drives. Optimize Route looks for a better order and shows you the difference before anything changes.
Before you start
The trip needs at least four stops (two orders). Stops that have no place on the map yet are estimated; they are measured properly when you save.
What the optimizer keeps
- Every pickup comes before its own delivery.
- A load at your own warehouse (the Warehouse out of an order your local crew picked up) comes before the trip's deliveries — the truck loads at home and leaves; it is never sent back to the warehouse mid-trip. A warehouse-out is never planned before the day your local crew picks the order up.
- Each pickup stays inside the order's pickup spread, each delivery inside its delivery spread, and any stop's time window is kept.
- No truck is loaded past its capacity along the way.
- Pinned stops, stops already done, overnights and the start and end of the trip stay where they are.
A stop you drag by hand on Route & Stops is pinned automatically — it shows Pinned by hand: unpin. Press that to let the optimizer move it again. You can also pin a stop to a Trip day with the day list beside it.
Optimize
- Open the trip and press Optimize Route at the top of the window.
- Read the pop-up: - A better order moves 3 stops. — then the Miles and Driving before → after, and the new stop order. - Or: The stops are already in the best order MoveBoard can find, with the miles and hours as they are.
- Press Apply the new order to take it, or close the pop-up to leave the stops alone.
- Press SAVE. Only the legs that changed are measured again.
A line under the figures warns you when some stops still fall outside a spread or window, or when A truck is still over capacity somewhere along the stops. — no order of the stops can fix those; change the dates, the trucks or the orders instead.
Re-place unpinned stops
On Route & Stops, Re-place unpinned stops puts every order's stops that nobody moved by hand back at their cheapest place inside the spreads. If some can't fit, it says Re-placed. Some stops could not be put inside their spread: see Schedule.
