Hours of service alerts
How MoveBoard plans each trip day inside the driving-hours limits and warns you when a day or a driver's week goes over.

When you plan a trip, MoveBoard splits the stops into days the driver can legally drive, and warns you when a plan goes over. These are planning alerts — never a claim of DOT hours-of-service compliance. The driver's ELD is the legal record.
How the days are planned
MoveBoard plans each day for:
- at most 11 hours of driving
- a 14-hour on-duty day — loading and unloading count as on duty, so a long load day leaves less driving
- a 30-minute break after 8 hours of driving
- 10 hours of rest between days
An alert shows only where a day you set by hand forces more than that.
See it on the trip
Open the trip and the Crew & Equipment tab. Driver & hours planning lists every trip day with its Planned driving, On duty and Breaks, and an Alert when the day goes over. The numbers turn red when a day has more than 11 hours of driving or more than 14 hours on duty. Driver not assigned. shows until the trip has a driver.
With a co-driver on the trip the truck can run longer days; each driver's own hours still count.
Over-limit days also show in the trip's Needs Attention, for example "Day 2: 11.5 h of planned driving (over 11 h) — a planning alert, not an HOS check".
The week across trips
Under the days, Hours over the week adds up each driver's on-duty hours in the days up to the trip's last day — this trip's plan plus their other trips. It warns when a driver goes over your cycle, for example "Rick: 72 h on duty in the 8 days to 2026-10-09 (over 70 h)".
A whole calendar day off counts as the 34-hour restart: the count starts again after it.
Choose the cycle
Your drivers run either 60 hours / 7 days or 70 hours / 8 days. Pick it under Trips › Trailers & settings, Drivers' hours-of-service cycle (planning alerts across trips), and press Save. Until you choose, MoveBoard uses 70 hours / 8 days.
