Long distance
Long-distance extra fees
The charges a long-distance move adds on top of the line haul — extra pickups and drop-offs, stairs, elevators, long carry and shuttles — how they are set and how they reach the order.

The line haul pays for moving the goods from one city to another. Work at either end that takes more than a normal load or unload is charged as an extra fee (the industry also calls these accessorials). You set the prices once per move type on Settings › Long distance › Extra fees.
The four kinds of extra fee
Extra pickup and delivery rates — a second or third stop at either end. For each distance from the first address you set an Extra Pickup Fee and an Extra Drop-off Fee, and the largest distance you accept (Largest extra pickup distance, Largest extra drop-off distance).
Floors: stairs and elevator — switch on Charge for the floor you are moving from and/or to. Stairs start counting from the Starting floor and are charged either per 100 cu ft or as a flat rate per flight. The elevator is charged per 100 cu ft or flat per flight, and you can group elevator floors.
Long carry charges — a walk from the home to the truck longer than Long carry starts at, feet, charged per 100 cu ft or as a flat fee per 30 extra feet.
Shuttle charges — when a smaller truck has to carry the goods to or from the big one (a narrow street, a building with no truck access): a Minimum shuttle charge and an Additional shuttle charge per 100 cu ft.
Set your prices
- Open Settings › Long distance › Extra fees.
- Pick the move type at the top.
- Type each price. A box saves when you leave it — there is no Save button. A price left blank or at 0 is saved as $0.01.
- To use the same prices for every move type, press Copy to other move types and answer Yes.
On the order
When the addresses on a long-distance order have extra stops, stairs, an elevator, a long carry or a shuttle, the matching fees are worked out from the order's size and added to it. Open the Linehaul Charge pop-up on the Quote card to see them under Accessorials, each on or off. The customer sees them in plain words — for example Extra pickup or Stairs at delivery.
If something goes wrong
A heads-up shows when a distance is above your largest distance, or the same distance is entered twice. It never stops the save — fix the rows so each distance appears once.
