Overlapping jobs on one truck
Booked and reserved jobs never share a truck beyond your allowed overlap; quotes can pile up until one books, and then the others lose the truck.

MoveBoard keeps a truck from being promised twice. The rule depends on how firm each job is.
Firm and tentative jobs
- Booked and Reserved jobs are firm: they really claim the truck.
- Every other status (a quote, Can Book Online, a new lead) only places a job on the truck. Several of these may sit on the same truck at the same time — they pile up on the truck schedule.
Firm jobs never pile up
A job can't land on a booked or reserved job on the same truck, except by the overlap your company allows. When it would, MoveBoard refuses and says which order is in the way, on which truck, and when: Spot is taken by booked order 1234 on Truck 2 — Thu, Oct 29, 1 PM.
This is checked on every path that puts a job on a truck — the order's truck schedule, the Dispatch board, and a customer changing their own move.
A job holds its truck only on its own day
However long a job runs — a long-distance day can have 40 hours of driving — it holds its truck only until midnight of its own day. It never clashes with jobs on the following days, and a long job on another order never blocks your day. The job keeps all its hours, price and pay; only its place on the truck stops at midnight. On the truck schedule its block reaches the end of the day with a runs 43 h › mark.
If the truck really won't be back, block the next day yourself with Block time. A long-distance delivery with block dates (Delivery by: Local crew) still holds its truck across every day of its block.
Set the allowed overlap
- Go to Settings › Sales & orders › Booked jobs overlap.
- For each move type, pick how long two booked or reserved jobs may share one truck: None, 30 min, 1 h, 1.5 h, 2 h or 3 h.
- Press Save.
Never set means None. The same choice also limits how far a customer's own change may run into another job when your expiration rules let them keep booking while their truck is still free.
When a quote books
When an order becomes booked or reserved, every other job on its trucks at the same time that is not booked or reserved loses the truck. Those orders go to New-Truck so sales can find them another truck. A booked or reserved job always keeps its truck.
Time held for the order (see Hold a truck without an order) counts the same way once the order is booked or reserved — on whichever truck and day it sits. Until then it is pencilled in and pushes nobody.
If a not-yet-booked order has held time where the booking lands, that order comes off the schedule completely — its jobs lose their trucks and its held time is let go — and it goes to New-Truck.
Held time of a booked or reserved order also refuses other jobs like a booked job does, beyond your allowed overlap.
On the Dispatch board
Dragging a job onto a row where another job is already scheduled at that time is refused with Sorry, the current truck is already scheduled for this time. Move the other job first, or pick another time or truck.
If something goes wrong
- Spot is taken by booked order … on … — Thu, Oct 29, 1 PM. — go to that day on the truck schedule; the job named there is in the way.
- The truck is already taken by reserved order … on … — … — the same, when a truck is picked for the job.
- One or more of the selected trucks are not available on … — the truck is off the road that day (see The fleet calendar).
