On long-distance orders, have the truck you pick for the pickup put on the delivery leg too.

A long-distance order has a pickup and a delivery, and each holds its own trucks. Usually the truck that loads is the truck that delivers. This setting saves you picking it twice.

Turn it on

  1. Go to Settings › Dispatch › Delivery truck auto-assignment.
  2. Under Assign the pickup truck to delivery automatically, switch On a long distance order, should selecting a pickup truck also assign the same truck to the delivery leg? to Yes.
  3. Press Save.

Never set means No.

What it does

When the setting is on and you add a truck to the pickup of a long-distance order — on the order's truck schedule or the Dispatch board — MoveBoard also puts that truck on the order's delivery, for the delivery dates.

It only happens when:

  • the order is long distance (interstate or intrastate);
  • a truck was added to the pickup (taking one off the pickup doesn't take it off the delivery);
  • the delivery has its block dates and the truck's leave and return times set;
  • the truck isn't already on the delivery.

When it can't

MoveBoard still saves the pickup truck and tells you why the delivery didn't get it:

  • Set the delivery block dates and truck leave/return time to also assign this truck to delivery.
  • This truck is already assigned to the delivery of another booked or reserved order.

On a long-distance day with delivery dates but no delivery truck, the truck schedule reminds you: No delivery truck is assigned for this long distance order.
