Documents customers sign online
Custom documents you send a customer to sign — how they open and sign them from their link or the portal's Documents, and where the signed copy goes.

On this page
Your own documents — a damage waiver, a stairs release, a parking agreement — can be sent to customers to sign on their phone. You build them in Settings › Documents & bill of lading › Custom documents.
How the customer gets one
- A personal link in an email or text — sent from the order by the office, or by a workflow's Send a document to sign step.
- Documents in their portal — To read and sign: every document you sent on this order, Waiting for your signature or signed.
The link opens without signing in: it's personal to that customer, that order and that document.
How they sign
- The document opens already filled in with the move's details.
- They fill in anything the document asks for and sign where it says.
- They press Finish and sign.
Thank you — it is signed. If something required is missing, it says One thing is still missing. and shows where.
Once signed, the same link shows their signed copy — with Open it to print or save — instead of the form.
On your side
- The first time they open it, the order shows it as opened.
- When they sign, the signed PDF is filed in the order's attachments and the order shows it as signed.
- Reminders stop once it's signed — see Reminders for unsigned documents.
Some documents are signed on the bill of lading with the crew instead — as an extra page, or one that must be signed before the bill. See Sign the bill of lading online.
When you look at it
From the office, the customer's document opens read-only: This is the customer's document, shown read-only. Only the customer can sign it.
If something goes wrong
- That document link is not valid. Please contact your moving company for a new one. — send the document again.
- This document is no longer needed. If you think it still is, please contact your moving company. — it was withdrawn.
- That did not go through. Please try again. / No connection. Please try again.
- There are no documents to sign on this order.
