Every order's Deposit row in Quote Details shows what your deposit rules ask for. You set the rules once, per move type, in Settings › Pricing & calculator › Reservation & deposits.
The basic amount
One rule for each kind of move:
| Kind of move | Set as |
|---|---|
| Hourly Moves | A number of hours of labor, or a dollar amount. |
| Flat Rate Moves | A percent of the max quote, or a dollar amount. |
| Long Distance Moves | A percent of the max quote, or a dollar amount. |
The box in use is live; the other is greyed until you click it (which switches to it and sets the amount to 0).
How it is charged
- Charge Reservation Price Per Truck — the amount is multiplied by the number of trucks.
- Charge the reservation on the first day only (multi-day moves) — on: a multi-day move asks one deposit, for its first day. Off: every day asks its own.
Closer to the move
Ask for more when the customer books at the last minute:
- Hours before the move date — for example 72.
- The reservation price goes up by — a $ Flat Fee (added to the normal deposit) or a % Of Max Quote (sets the deposit to that share of the max quote; 100% asks for the whole quote).
- For a multi-day move charged on the first day only, Closer to the move, a percent raise takes The first day's quote or The whole move's quote.
The deposit is never more than the max quote.
Press Save. Copy to other move types fills the other move types with the same rules, waiting for Save.
On the order
- The Deposit row shows the amount the rules ask for. Someone with permission can type another amount for this order; clearing the box goes back to the rules. See Change the deposit or fuel amount on an order.
- When the customer pays from their portal, they must pay at least the deposit asked — or all that's still due, if less: The deposit to book is $….
- In the office you can take any amount as a deposit.
