Each branch charges cards through one processor: Authorize.net (the default) or Stripe, once your Stripe account is connected.

Pick one

In Settings › Payments & billing › Payment processing, the Stripe card has Charge new cards through: Authorize.net / Stripe. Stripe can be picked once your Stripe account can take cards. Only a company admin can change it.

What changes when you pick Stripe

  • Credit Online in an order's Create Payment shows Stripe's own card form. The card number goes straight to Stripe — MoveBoard never sees it, just as with Authorize.net.
  • Link (Stripe's saved-checkout) is never offered on your team's screens — Create Payment, Cards on file, storage, box deliveries, the crew's bill of lading — because the card your team types is the customer's, not theirs. When customers pay themselves (portal deposit, invoices, storage, boxes, the box store), Stripe's form offers Link, already filled with the customer's email and mobile number, so a customer who uses Link can pay with a card he saved there.
  • Some banks ask the customer to confirm a payment (a code from their bank). Stripe shows that step right in the form; the payment is on the order once the bank confirms it.
  • A card charged through Stripe — or added in Cards on file — is kept on file at Stripe and can be charged again. Its name, expiry and ZIP aren't edited in MoveBoard: Stripe keeps the expiry up to date by itself.
  • Your credit card fee and cash discount, receipts, the payments table, reports, payroll and the bill of lading work exactly the same.

What stays the same

  • Payments you already took are refunded through the processor that took them. A payment taken through Authorize.net is refunded at Authorize.net even after you switch to Stripe, and the other way round.
  • Cards already on file are charged through the processor that keeps them.
