Troubleshooting
The price looks wrong
Work out why a quote is higher or lower than you expected — typed values in red, the calendar's price level, minimums, travel time, the size of the move, a sold quote that no longer follows your settings — and check it with the test calculator.

MoveBoard works every quote out from your settings and the order. When a price surprises you, one of these is usually why.
1. Something was typed by hand
A figure in red with a ↺ arrow was typed by someone and no longer follows the calculator — crew, trucks, hours, rate or the line haul. Press ↺ to hand it back to the calculator. See Typed values vs calculated values.
2. The day's price level
The price calendar can put a day on a higher or lower level, or set its own minimum hours. Check the move date's colour on the calendar. See Peak, discount and blocked days.
3. Minimums
Minimum Billable Hours charges at least that many hours, and Include Travel Time in Minimum Hours changes how travel counts toward it. A small move often costs the minimum. See How many movers.
4. The size of the move
More cubic feet means more movers, more trucks and more hours. Check the move size, the inventory and any custom volume on the Order card — an inventory the customer filled in can change it. See Size, inventory or custom volume.
5. Travel time and stops
Travel time depends on your way of measuring it and on the addresses. An extra stop, or a parking address far from the office, adds time. See Travel time and truck speed.
6. Long distance
A long-distance price comes from the tariff, the weight (cubic feet × the weight factor), extra fees, fuel and valuation. Open the Linehaul Charge pop-up on the Quote card to see each step. See A long-distance order.
7. You changed your settings, but the order didn't follow
Once a customer has agreed to a price, the sold quote is kept even if you change your rates. See The sold quote. Some setting changes update open orders and some never do — see When a settings change reprices orders.
8. Discounts, fuel and taxes
A promotion or discount, the fuel surcharge and taxes all change the total. They're each a line on the Quote card.
Check it
Put the same move into the test calculator — it prices a pretend move with your current settings, and saves nothing. If the test gives the price you expect and the order doesn't, look for a typed value (red) on the order. If the test gives the same surprise, the answer is in your settings.
