Getting started

Work in another branch

Pick which branches you're looking at from the top bar, and what changes from branch to branch.

If your company has more than one branch and you belong to more than one, the top bar lets you choose which branches you're working in. With one branch there's nothing to choose, and the top bar simply shows your company's name.

Choose your branches

  1. Press the company name at the left of the top bar (it has a ▾ next to it).
  2. The Branches panel opens: "Press a branch to see it alone · tick several to see them together".
  3. Choose: - One branch — press its name. You see that branch alone (the row says Only this one), and the panel closes. - Several branches — press the tick box in front of each branch you want to add (press it again to take that branch away). - Every branch — press All branches.

The screen reloads with your choice and keeps it as you move around. The top bar then shows the branch's name, All branches, or how many you ticked (for example 2 branches).

You can't untick the last branch — at least one is always ticked. You only see the branches you belong to; ask your admin if one is missing.

What follows your choice

  • Search looks in the branches you ticked. The search pop-up also has its own Branch chips, so you can search other branches for one search without changing your choice.
  • The orders list and the unread counts in the menu cover the ticked branches.
  • The dashboard's pop-ups and the email-problem warning in the top bar look at the ticked branches too. The warning always names the company or branch whose mailbox stopped working, and its button takes you to that branch's Email setup (or Storage › Facilities, or your Connections) — switching branch for you when it isn't the one on your screen.

What belongs to one branch

Some things only make sense for one branch at a time. They use your working branch — the branch you were in, if it's still ticked, otherwise the first one you ticked:

  • Settings — prices, templates, trucks and most other settings are kept per branch.
  • Permissions — what you may see and do can be different in each branch, so the menu is checked again when you change branch. An item can appear or disappear.
  • The logo and weather in the top bar.

To change a setting for another branch, press that branch's name (so it's the only one ticked), then open Settings. To give another branch the same settings as yours, an administrator can press Copy to branch at the top of the settings page — see Branches.

Starting something new

With more than one branch, New in the top bar opens with a Branch picker above the four tiles. It starts on your working branch; pick another before you press New Order, New Lead, New Account or New Task.

How a new order finds its branch is set in Settings › Company & branches › Order routing.

If something goes wrong

If you were removed from a branch while you were working, the next change you make in the panel only offers the branches you still belong to. "You are not in that branch." means MoveBoard refused a branch you're no longer part of.
