Getting started

MoveBoard has been updated

Why the update card appears, what Refresh and Later do, and why nothing you typed is lost.

On this page

We improve MoveBoard often. When a new version is out, MoveBoard tells you — and lets you finish what you're doing first. It never reloads the page on its own.

The update card

A small card appears at the bottom right of the screen (across the bottom on a phone):

MoveBoard has been updated — "Refresh to get the latest version. Save your work first."

  • Refresh loads the new version right away.
  • Later (or the ×) puts the card away. It won't come back for this version.

Either way, an Update ready button stays in the top bar until you refresh. Press it whenever you're ready — it does the same as Refresh.

Nothing typed is lost

If you press Refresh (or Update ready) while something isn't saved — an order window, a settings page — MoveBoard asks first:

"You have unsaved changes in Order #… . Refreshing now will lose them."

  • Stay — keep working. Save your changes, then refresh.
  • Refresh anyway — reload now and drop those changes.

"MoveBoard was updated — please refresh to save this"

Once in a while you press save on a page that was opened before the update, and the save can't go through. You'll see:

"MoveBoard was updated — please refresh to save this. What you typed is still here."

Your typing stays in the form. Copy anything long somewhere safe if you like, press Refresh on the update card, and make the change again.

How MoveBoard notices

Every open tab checks for a new version every few minutes, when you come back to the tab, and when its live connection comes back after a moment offline. So the card can appear a little after an update rather than the second it happens.

In the Mover's Portal

Foremen and movers see the update in the portal's What's new: the button gets a red dot, and inside it says "Your Mover's Portal has been updated. Please click on refresh button to see the new updates." Press Reload software.

Customers

If a customer's portal page was opened before an update and something they do can't go through, they see This page was updated — "Please refresh to continue. What you typed is still on the page until you do." — with Refresh and Close.
