Add foremen, drivers and helpers so they can sign in to the Mover's Portal on their phone — and why they never open the office.

Foremen, drivers and helpers work from the Mover's Portal on their phone: their jobs, the bill of lading, photos, payments and time. They get an account like anyone else, with a crew position.
Add a mover
- Open Settings › Users & permissions › Users and press New user.
- Fill in the name, Contact Email and Phone. Mark the phone Mobile if you want to text them a password link.
- Give them a Username and a Password. A mover's password can be anything at all, up to 32 characters — because they sign in on a phone, often in a parking lot.
- User Type: Standard. Pick their Department (for example your crew department).
- Tick Foreman, Driver or Helper under Position — whichever they do. Several are fine.
- Press Create.
Then set their pay on Payroll (see Pay rates per person) and press Save.
How they sign in
They open the Mover's Portal on their phone and sign in with the Company login ID, their username and password — see Sign in to the Mover's Portal. You can send them a link to choose their own password: Details › Software Login › Send a link to set it, by text to a mobile number.
Why movers don't open the office
The office opens only for an administrator or someone with at least one office position (Sales, Customer Service, Manager, Finance or Dispatcher). Someone whose positions are only Foreman, Driver or Helper is sent to the Mover's Portal instead.
So:
- A foreman who also does sales gets both Foreman and Sales — they sign in to the office and lead crews.
- A helper gets only Helper — they use only the Mover's Portal.
What's different about a crew member's window
- They show as crew member on the Users page.
- They have a Time off tab (for anyone who sees Dispatch) — see Staff time off.
- A crew member's Claims tab shows the damage claims on jobs they worked (for anyone who sees Claims).
- A driver or helper with no other position has only Details, Integration, Payroll and Logs. A foreman's Permissions tab stays open.
- They never appear in office pickers like salesperson or task owner.
What the crew sees
What a foreman can do on the job — and which of it your settings allow — is in What the crew sees.
If something goes wrong
- Hi … You have no permissions. — a crew-only person tried the office login. Send them to the Mover's Portal.
- Password is a required field or Password must be at most 32 characters — a mover still needs a password, of 32 characters at most.
