Each person's pay lives on their Payroll tab in Users: the rates MoveBoard uses every time it makes a job's payroll.
Before you start
Changing someone's pay needs Manage employees within the company. Anyone can see their own.
Open it
- Open Users in the menu (or Settings › Users & permissions › Users) and open the person.
- Choose the Payroll tab: Rate & Commission Settings — "How this person is paid in this branch. A new amount can start after a date."
Add a rate or commission
Press Add new commission and pick its type:
| Type | What it pays |
|---|---|
| Hourly Rate | dollars per hour on every job |
| Hourly Rate as Helper | their hourly rate when they work as a driver or helper |
| Daily Rate | a flat amount per working day |
| Packing Commission | a percent of the job's packing (foremen) |
| Additional Services Commission | a percent of the additional services |
| Commission from Total | a percent of the job's total |
| Per Day Bonus | a flat amount per working day |
| Per Job Bonus | a flat amount per job |
For each, type the Amount — dollars, or a percent for the three commissions. A commission also has a Price type: Sales (the estimate) or Closing. See Commissions and "what's included".
A person has one of each type. Hourly Rate and Daily Rate exclude each other: someone is paid by the hour or by the day.
A raise from a date
Under the Amount, Add new rate after opens New Amount and Applied After (a date in the future; its calendar shows last month and this month side by side, one month on a phone). From that date MoveBoard uses the new amount. Cancel rate after takes it away again.
Save
Nothing on the tab saves by itself: press the person window's Save. The rates apply to every payroll made after that; payrolls already made don't change (use Update payroll from closing on a job if you need one to follow).
How the rates are used
- Hourly pay is the job's closing hours × the hourly rate (or the helper rate for a driver or helper who has one).
- A Daily Rate or Per Day Bonus becomes a misc payment for the day on the Accounting page, once per person per day.
- A salesperson's hourly rate counts only when it is above zero.
If something goes wrong

- "New Amount is a required field" / "Applied After is a required field"
- "Applied After must be later than current date"
