Let someone archive orders

The "Can archive orders" permission lets anyone you pick archive an order, and take one out of Archived, the way an admin can.

Archiving hides an order from the office for good: duplicates, tests, mistakes. Admins can always archive. Can archive orders lets you give that to anyone else — a sales manager, for example.

What it gives

Someone with Can archive orders can:

  • pick Archived in the order's status menu
  • pick Archived in Change status for orders picked on the orders list, AI Leads or the Calendar
  • take an order out of Archived (pick another status for it)
  • ask Ed to archive an order

The usual checks still apply: an order linked to storage, or with a completed job, can't be archived, and an order with payroll asks first. See Postpone, cancel or archive an order.

What it doesn't give

To find and open archived orders, a person also needs See archived orders. See Let someone see archived orders. Without it, they can archive an order but not find it again afterwards.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings › Users & permissions › Users and click the person.
  2. Open Permissions. In the Orders card, turn on Can archive orders.
  3. Press Save. It applies on their next click.

It's off for everyone until you turn it on. Admins always have it.
