On this page
On a moving-and-storage order the Storage row of the quote opens the Storage Charge pop-up. It starts from your facility's pricing as it was when the order was quoted, and whatever you set here is what the tenant is billed once the move in is booked.
Open it
- Open the order and find Storage in the quote.
- Click it. The Storage Charge pop-up opens.
On an order that spans several days, choose Coming to Storage and the day the customer completes the storage agreement and is billed (Day 1, Day 2…).
The facility and the fee
- Storage Facility — choosing another facility starts the form over from that facility's pricing.
- Include Price in Quote — when on, the storage is part of the quote's total.
- Tax and the Minimum cubic feet billed.
- The monthly fee is worked out from the size and the pricing. Type over it and it turns red: a fee set by hand. Remove manual changes puts the calculated fee back.
How it is priced
One pricing type at a time:
- Per CuFt — a Rate Per CuFt each month, times the cubic feet.
- Vault — a Location Type (Grid or Location), the Max CuFt per vault and the price per Vault. The goods take as many vaults as they need.
- Per Room — can't be switched on here. An order already priced by room shows its rooms, each with a Size Label, Capacity (CuFt) and Price Per Room.
Billing schedule
- Prorate to the 1st — the first bill runs from the move-in date to the first of the next month, then bills on the 1st.
- Minimum Billable Days per Cycle — Move Date, 1 week (7 days) up to 1 month: the shortest stay that is billed as a full cycle.
- Duration of Billing — monthly.
If a move-out date is set and the stay is shorter than the minimum, these options are greyed out and the pop-up says why.
Price increases and free months
Press Show price increases and free months:
- Price increases — raise the rate after a number of months, by a Percent or a Flat amount. MoveBoard applies each one once, the night it is due.
- Max months in storage — the longest stay you allow; see Time in storage over the maximum.
- Apply free storage to month: — pick the month that is free (none, or the 1st through the 12th).
- Display on Customer Account Page — whether the customer sees the storage on their page.
Bulky items
Manage Bulky Items lists items that cost extra each month (a piano, a pool table): Name, Quantity, CuFt, Monthly Cost and Total. Type in Add item… (type to search) to add one.
Save
Press Save in the pop-up, then SAVE on the order. A completed order's storage charge is shown as it stands and can't be changed.
If something goes wrong
The pop-up won't save while the chosen pricing type is missing its rate:
- "Price is a required field" / "Price must be a positive number"
- "Vault is a required field" / "Max CuFt per vault is a required field"
- "At least one room price is required"
