Every new lead becomes an order in status New on your Orders list. It shows up there the moment it arrives — no refresh needed — and your office gets the New lead notification.
The ways in
| Where it comes from | How it arrives | Its source |
|---|---|---|
| Your website's quote form | The customer fills in your short, long or single-page form. Set it up in Settings › Website & forms › Quote forms. | What they picked under How did you hear about us? |
| The AI receptionist | It answers your phone, gives an estimate and makes the lead. See AI Leads. | AI Receptionist |
| Lead providers | Providers such as Angi post their leads straight in — Angi to your company's own Angi address, others through the lead API. MoveBoard doesn't read lead emails. | The provider's name (or Other) |
| The customer portal | A customer presses Request a new move on their portal, then Get my quote. | Moveboard |
| Your office | + New › New Lead or New Order. See Create a new lead. | What you pick in How did you hear about us? |
| A file | Settings › Sales & orders › Import orders brings in orders from a spreadsheet. | The file's source column |
The Source column and the Source filter on the Orders list show where each lead came from. Lead-provider orders keep their source locked so your reports stay right.
Lead sources
Your list of sources lives in Settings › Sales & orders › Lead sources.
- Press New lead source.
- Type the Source — Google, a referral, a sign on the truck.
- Leave Active on, and switch on Show to customer if it should be in your website form's How did you hear about us? list.
- Press Save.
Drag the sources to change the order customers see them in. Each row shows how many orders came from it. Lead providers are listed in their own card; you can switch them on or off but not rename them.
Admins can also set what each source costs and compare it in the Lead Acquisition Costs report.
Who gets the lead
Leads that arrive on their own are handed out by your assignment rules. A lead someone in the office makes is theirs, unless the customer has been with you before.
Duplicates
A lead provider that sends the same lead twice is refused the second time. On your own forms, a customer who asks again gets a new order; the order window shows how many orders they have with you, and a returning customer goes back to their salesperson. See Returning customers and their history.
