MoveBoard checks every text — yours and automatic ones — against these rules before it goes. When one stops a text, you're told why.
STOP means stop
When a customer texts back STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, OPTOUT, OPT-OUT), their number goes on your company's opt-out list at once. Nothing more is texted to it — not by you, not by a workflow. A text you try is held with … has opted out of texts.
The customer gets back on by texting START (or YES, UNSTOP, OPTIN, OPT-IN). Only the customer can do that — the office can't undo a STOP.
STOP is the only thing that opts a number out. Nothing else MoveBoard sees is treated as an opt-out.
Numbers that can't receive texts
Two kinds of number are never texted, and show This number can't receive texts under them:
- An impossible number — not ten digits, or an area code or exchange starting with 0 or 1. No such number exists.
- A number the phone company rejected as not a phone number.
This isn't an opt-out: fix the number on the Customer card and it can be texted again. In the Messages page's SMS log such texts show not sent — number can't receive texts.
A real number that's a landline or temporarily unreachable is still tried; if it doesn't arrive, the log says never arrived or failed.
Switched off by the office
- The Customer card's Status › SMS status off — texts are switched off for this customer.
- Texts switched off on the order — texts are switched off on this order.
- The additional contact's Receive SMS off — texts are switched off for this additional contact.
Company-wide
No text goes when Enable SMS is off (SMS feature is turned off for the company), before your texting registration is complete, or when the texting balance is used up. See Texting registration and Texting balance.
Consent on your website forms
While your company texts, your website quote form shows a consent line under the customer's details: I agree to receive SMS messages from (your company) regarding my moving service request and updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for assistance… The box is optional — the form can be sent without it.
Its Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy words link to your own pages — set Terms and conditions URL and Privacy policy URL in Settings › Company & branches › Company info. Without them the words stay plain text. The line is part of your quote form's design in Settings › Website & forms › Quote forms.
