US mobile carriers only deliver business texts from a local number when the business is registered for A2P 10DLC ("application-to-person, 10-digit long code"). It tells the carriers who you are and what you text about. Unregistered business texts get blocked or filtered.

What MoveBoard does

Your texting number and your registration are set up with you by the MoveBoard team. Registration has steps — your business, its address, an authorised representative — and the carriers review each one. Approval usually takes days, not minutes.

Keep Enable SMS switched on in Settings › Communication › Text messages the whole time: Please make sure SMS is enabled during the entire registration process or it may delay approval.

Where it stands

Open Settings › Communication › Text messages.

  • Registered: under Enable SMS it says Your company is approved to send SMS.
  • Not registered: a warning at the top — Company is not registered for A2P 10DLC in Twilio. SMS, MMS, call forwarding and receiving SMS are disabled until brand registration is complete.

Until you're registered

No text goes out — not from an order, not from a workflow, not the deposit link. A text you try to send is held with the reason the company is not registered for A2P 10DLC, and it shows on the order so you know it didn't go. Emails and portal messages carry on as normal.

Use Send as message (the customer's portal) and email in the meantime.

After you're registered

Texting starts working at once — nothing else to switch on. Keep an eye on your texting balance: texts also stop when it reaches $0.
