Each position starts with a sensible set of notifications, so a new salesperson hears about their leads and a dispatcher hears about crews and trucks — without anyone setting them up by hand. This is the one place a new person's starting notifications come from — their department sets only their permissions.
What each position starts with
| Position | Starts with (by the bell unless noted) |
|---|---|
| Sales | Their own: New lead (bell, email and text), Customer message or text (bell, email, text), Booked online (bell, email, text), Order assigned (bell, email, text), customer activity, payments, surveys, reserved-not-booked reminders. Plus Task for me and Someone pinged me (bell and email). |
| Customer Service | Every Customer message or text (bell, email, text), customer requests, changes and files, New email received in the shared mailbox. |
| Manager | Every New lead (bell and email), bookings, payments, Cash collected, refunds, status changes, crew and truck changes, job status, Text balance. |
| Finance | Payments, Cash collected (bell, email, text), refunds, invoices and reminders, cards saved, storage, Text balance. |
| Dispatcher | Crew changed, Truck changed, Job status, Bill of lading, closing and photos, customer and office changes to dates and addresses, Move reminders. |
| Admin / Owner | The widest set: leads, accounts, bookings, payments, cash, refunds, status changes, crews, team changes, storage, Text balance (bell, email, text). |
Salespeople hear about their own orders (Only mine); everyone else hears about all. Foremen, drivers and helpers get their job news in the Mover's Portal instead.
Change your company's defaults
- Open Settings › Users & permissions › Notifications.
- In Defaults by position, press Edit on a position.
- Tick On, App, Email, Text and Only mine as you want them.
- Press Save.
The row then says changed for this company. Back to suggested returns to MoveBoard's set.
Position defaults are automatically assigned to users based on their role. Changes to these defaults will not affect existing users unless you select "Apply to Users." This is the one place a new user's starting notifications are set (departments set permissions only).
Give them to everyone in the position
Press Apply to Users on the position and confirm Apply these notification settings to all users assigned to the … position? MoveBoard says Applied to N people in …. Each person gets the defaults of every position they hold.
This replaces what those people had. Someone who'd fine-tuned theirs will need to do it again — you can still change one person afterwards. See Staff notifications.
