Email header and footer

Set the logo, banner and contact details that go round every email template — once, for every email — and give one template its own when it needs to look different.

Every email template goes out wrapped in your default header and default footer — your logo at the top, your address, phone and licence numbers at the bottom. Set them once and every email, old and new, uses them.

Set them

  1. Open Settings › Communication › Header & footer.
  2. Default header — Shown at the top of every email template — your logo, a banner, a line of words.
  3. Default footer — Shown at the bottom of every email template — your address, phone, license numbers, social links.
  4. Click into either one to edit it: type, add a picture (your logo), align, add dividers, tables, buttons, links and colours. Variables puts in your company's details so they stay up to date.
  5. Check How an email looks — a sample email with your header and footer, as on a desktop, a laptop, a tablet or a phone.
  6. Press Save. MoveBoard confirms: Saved. Every email template now goes out with this header and footer.

Nothing is copied into the templates: the header and footer are added each time an email is previewed or sent. Change them here and every email changes with them.

Give one template its own

Some emails need a different look — a plain internal-style note, a seasonal banner.

  1. Open the template in Settings › Communication › Templates, Design tab.
  2. Under Header and footer, switch off Use the default header (or footer). The template gets its own, starting as a copy of the default for you to change.
  3. Save the template.

Switch it back on to drop the template's own and follow the default again. Edit the default header & footer jumps to the shared ones.

Good to know

  • Texts have no header or footer — only emails.
  • A header or footer left empty adds nothing.
  • Every email that comes from a template gets them — automatic ones, and ones the office sends from an order. An email typed by hand with no template goes as written.
