Every email you send a customer can start from a template, filled in with this order's details before you send it.
Before you start
- The order needs an email address on the Customer card.
- If you changed the order and haven't saved, save first — variables are filled in from the saved order. Otherwise MoveBoard says Please save changes.
Send it
- Open the order and, in the conversation, choose the Email tab.
- From — pick the company's mailbox or your own (your own appears once you've connected your email).
- To — the customer's address is already there. Press an address chip to leave it out; Add an address for another. + CC and + BCC open those lines.
- Press Template and pick one — search with Search templates…. The whole email appears in the box, filled in for this order, with its subject.
- Click into the words to change them for this email only. The note above the box changes to Changed for this email only. The template itself stays as it is.
- Press Attach to add files if you like.
- Press the eye (Preview the email) to see it exactly as it will arrive: the variables filled in for this order, your header and footer, the real address each customer link opens, and the unsubscribe line at the bottom. An email you wrote yourself previews the same way.
- Press Send.
The template in Settings is never changed by what you type here.
Change your mind
- Template again picks a different one. If you'd changed the words, MoveBoard asks Discard your changes? — press Use the other template, or close to keep yours.
- Write by hand instead drops the template and gives you an empty email.
Write one by hand
Skip Template, type a Subject and the email. Variable puts a variable — the customer's first name, the move date — where the cursor is; it's filled in when the email goes. See Variables in templates.
What happens next
The email appears in the order's conversation with its subject. An eye beside it shows whether the customer has opened it — see Did my email arrive?. The order's additional contact gets a copy when their email switch is on — see Messages to the additional contact.
