Inventory
When the customer sends the inventory
What changes when a customer sends their inventory — the live pop-up in the order window, the bell notice, the New-Info status and the new quote.

On this page
When a customer finishes their inventory, MoveBoard updates the order and tells the salesperson — once, with everything that changed, however many times they pressed save.
When it counts as sent
The customer's list is sent to you when they press I'm done — send to my mover, leave the inventory page with a saved list, or make no change for 15 minutes. Saves before that are quiet.
What changes on the order
- The inventory and the cubic feet are the customer's new list, and the move's size follows it.
- The quote is worked out again.
- The status moves to New-Info so someone looks at it — from New, and from statuses like Follow Up or Can Book Online. Orders in another New status keep it, and Reserved, Booked, Postponed and Completed orders never change.
If you have the order open
A pop-up appears in the order window straight away — Inventory updated by the customer. Its headline says how it was sent — Dana updated the inventory and sent it to you, …saved inventory changes and left the page, or …'s saved inventory changes were sent (no change for 15 minutes) — and it shows what changed over the whole session:
- the items added and taken off (or No items added or removed.),
- the cubic feet before → after,
- the quote before → after.
With nothing unsaved in your window, it refreshes onto the new figures: This window now shows the new inventory and quote. With unsaved changes, MoveBoard asks first: You have unsaved changes in this window. Refresh to load the customer's inventory — your unsaved changes stay in place.
The bell
The order's salesperson gets one notice in the bell, for example Dana finished the inventory: 42 items, 610 cu ft.
If the bigger job no longer fits on its truck, the same notice adds the job no longer fits on Truck 2, so it was taken off — see Inventory changes and the truck.
What to do next
- Open the order and look at the new inventory — special items show as a red number on Inventory.
- Check the new quote, crew size and truck.
- Follow up with the customer and move the order on from New-Info.
