How customers build their inventory
What your customer sees and does on My Inventory — rooms, the catalog, the typical list, photos, a pasted list or a spreadsheet — and how it reaches you.

Knowing what your customer sees helps you walk them through it on the phone. This is My Inventory in their portal.
The page
Rooms on the left (chips across the top on a phone), the open room's items in the middle, and your item catalog on the right. The totals — items, cu ft — and Save inventory sit at the bottom.
A new inventory starts with the rooms of the move size they picked.
The typical list
The first time they open an empty inventory, if your company keeps a typical list for their move size, a pop-up offers it room by room with the items, cu ft and lbs:
- Use the typical list — fills the rooms in one step; they change what's different. It never lowers a number they already set. When the inventory already has an empty room of the same kind — an empty Bedroom 2, say — the list fills that room instead of adding another.
- Build my own list — starts empty.
The answer is remembered; Use the typical list in the side bar brings the offer back. Your typical lists are set in Typical inventory by room and size.
Adding items
- Tap items in the catalog, or search and press Enter. Something not in your list is added as their own item.
- + and − change quantities.
- Items your office marked packed by company or not shipped show only their count — the customer can't change them.
Faster ways in
- Build with AI — take photos room by room, upload photos, or paste a list. Find my items suggests the items; nothing is added until they confirm with Add to my inventory.
- Upload a spreadsheet — a CSV or Excel list goes into the open room.
Sending it to you
Save inventory saves as they go, quietly. The list is sent to you once, when they:
- press I'm done — send to my mover, or
- leave the inventory page with a saved list, or
- make no change for 15 minutes.
After a save they see Inventory saved. Keep going, or press “I'm done — send to my mover” when your list is complete.
While they're building, the open order window shows that the customer is working on their inventory. What happens when it arrives: When the customer sends the inventory.
When it's locked
On a Reserved or Booked move: Your move is reserved or booked, so the inventory can no longer be changed here. Please contact your moving specialist to discuss your changes. With Edit inventory off in the client portal designer, they see the list but can't change it.
