When a customer reads you their list over the phone, build the inventory yourself. The move's size, time and price then follow the real items.
Open the inventory
- Open the order.
- Press Inventory in the strip under the order's top bar.
The inventory fills the order window: rooms down the left, the open room's items in the middle, and In this move on the right.
Add items
- Pick a room on the left. Add New Room adds one; Edit Room Name renames it; Remove room takes it away.
- Press an item in the middle to add it. Its count becomes a drop-down on the row — pick how many.
- Or type in Search items, press Enter to add — Enter adds the first match.
- Something not in your list? Add Custom Item — give it a name and its size.
In this move lists everything picked, room by room. Show only narrows it; Remove takes a line off.
Size and details
Press Size and details on a line to change, for that move only:
- Item Name and Quantity,
- Cubic Feet and Pounds — or Width, Depth and Height (in inches),
- Packed by — Customer or Company. A line can also be marked Not shipped (it stays on the list but isn't moved).
Items packed by the company show as Packed by company to the customer, who can't change them.
Special items and extra fees
Items your library marks as special — a piano, a safe — show as a red number on the Inventory button, so they're never missed.
Items with an Extra Fee in your library (a heavy-carry fee, for example) add it to the move by themselves: the long-distance fee on a long-distance move, the hourly one otherwise. It shows as its own line in Additional Services and on the bill of lading, and goes away when the item does. See Item fees on the bill.
Faster ways in
Create with AI — Bring a list or photos in instead of picking each item:
- Import CSV / Excel — see Import an inventory from a spreadsheet.
- Describe items in text — Two queen beds, a leather sofa, 20 boxes… then CONTINUE.
- Take photos — up to 10 at once, saved to the order and read into items.
Whatever they add lands in the list for you to check: Added 12 items. Review them, then SUBMIT.
Save it
Press SUBMIT. The whole inventory is saved as a new version, the move's size comes from it, and the quote is worked out again. The customer sees the same list in their portal.
Closing with unsaved items asks first: You have not saved your inventory changes. Do you wish to save your changes now?
If something goes wrong
- The inventory could not be saved. — try SUBMIT again.
- Nothing to submit yet / Nothing changed.
- The order already has a room with that name.
- Available once the AI key is added on text and photo reading — AI isn't set up for your company yet; the spreadsheet import still works.
