Every item on an inventory — a queen bed, a box, a piano — comes from your item library. What you set there decides how much space and weight each item adds, how long it takes, and what it costs extra.
Where it lives
Settings › Inventory › Inventory items. The library is kept per move type — pick it at the top. Copy to other move types puts this move type's whole list on the others. Each item saves on its own with Create or Update. The page, field by field: Inventory items.
What each item carries
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| CuFt and lbs | Its space and weight — they add up to the move's cubic feet and weight, which size the truck, the crew and the time. |
| Special Item | Flags it — the order's Inventory button shows a red count of special items so nobody misses the piano. |
| Additional Labor Time | Extra time this item adds to the job. |
| Min number of movers required | The crew can't be smaller than this when the item is on the move. |
| Extra Service Name and Extra Fee | A charge that comes with the item — once for hourly and local moves, and once more for long distance. |
| Bulky Item | Charges for long distance moves (Price) and storage (Price per Month). |
| Packing | Packing products the item needs; they're added when the item is. |
| Special Handling | Disassembly, crating, wall dismounting — available, recommended and priced. |
| Image | The picture customers and your office see. |
Extra fees in practice
An item with an Extra Fee — say a Baby Grand Piano with a Heavy Carry Fee — adds that fee to every move it's on, with its own name: the long-distance fee on a long-distance move, the hourly one on any other. Leave the long-distance fee blank and long-distance moves carry no fee for it. The fee shows on the quote and the bill as its own line — see Item fees on the bill.
Changing an item
Editing an item never changes orders already quoted: the item is saved as a new one and those orders keep the old one. New inventories — the office's and the customer's — use the new version at once.
Rooms
Items are grouped by room on every inventory. The rooms and their order are in Settings › Inventory › Rooms — see Rooms.
