Add inventory by voice
Press the microphone, say the items and how many — rooms too — check the list, and add them. For your office, for your customers in the client portal, or both; off until you switch it on.

Instead of picking items one by one, say them: "One sofa, one chair, a dining table, a bed, twenty small boxes, twenty medium boxes. In the bedroom a bed and two nightstands." AI writes down what was said and turns it into items from your own item list — the same way it reads a pasted list — and shows them to check before anything is added.
Switch it on
Settings › Inventory › Add by voice has two switches:
- For the office — an Add by voice button beside Create with AI in an order's inventory.
- For customers in the client portal — an Add by voice button beside Build with AI on the customer's My Inventory page.
Turn on either or both and press Save. Both are off until you switch them on; while off, nobody sees a microphone. Each branch has its own switches.
Add items by voice
- Press Add by voice, then the big microphone. The first time, the browser asks to use the microphone — allow it.
- Say the items and how many: two chairs, a couple of lamps, twenty small boxes, a dozen plants. Name a room and what follows goes in it: in the kitchen a table and four chairs.
- Press Stop. A recording can be up to 2 minutes — the timer shows how long, and it stops by itself at 2:00.
- Check the list. Each line shows the item, how many, its room and either From your list (an item from your library, with its cu ft and weight) or Custom (not in your library — it comes in by the name said, at a standard size). Change a count or a room, or remove a line with the bin.
- Press Add N items. They go into the rooms exactly like items added by hand: cu ft, weight and price follow. In the office press SUBMIT as usual; the customer presses Save.
The order's activity log gets a line such as Added by voice: 1 Sofa, 20 Small Box; Bedroom: 1 Bed, 2 Nightstand.
What we heard under the list shows the words as they were written down. Record again starts over.
Good to know
- Boxes: say the size — small, medium, large boxes — and your library's box of that size is used.
- Rooms are your own rooms (Settings › Inventory › Rooms). Lines with no room said go to the room that's open (the office) or the first room (the customer's page).
- English for now.
- The recording is not kept. It is turned into words, the words into items, and the recording is dropped.
- Phones: works in Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android. If the microphone was blocked, allow it in the browser's address bar — on an iPhone in Settings › Safari › Microphone — then try again.
- Nothing heard? You'll see We didn't hear anything — try again a little closer to the microphone.
- Limits: a person can make up to 40 recordings an hour.
- AI use is counted in your company's AI usage, the same as reading photos and lists.
