A quote from the customer's own list is a quote you can stand behind. There are three ways to get them to list their items.
1. Request inventory, from the order
On the order's Order card, next to CuFt/Lbs, press Request inventory. The customer gets an email and a text with their own signed-in link to the inventory page of their portal — no password. Step by step: Send the inventory link.
Request inventory shows only while the order is sized by its move size or a typed volume. Once the order is sized from an inventory, the button hides — the list is already there. It's greyed when the order has neither an email nor a mobile number.
2. Automatically, with a workflow
With Workflows on, the step Send the inventory link (email + text) sends the same link without anyone pressing anything — for example, an hour after a new website lead arrives, or when a lead moves to Follow Up. Automatic sends wait out your quiet hours. See Set up a Workflow.
3. The customer's portal, any time
Every customer can open My Inventory from their portal whenever they like — from the quote email, the deposit link or any link you've sent them. You don't need to send anything for them to start.
The words they get
The email and text are templates you can change in Settings › Communication › Templates (folder Inventory): Inventory link (sent from the order) and Inventory link text (sent from the order). Switch either off there if you only want one.
What they can do on the page
List items room by room, take or upload photos for the AI to read, paste a list, or upload a spreadsheet — see How customers build their inventory.
When it comes back
When they press I'm done — send to my mover (or leave the page after saving, or stop for 15 minutes), the order updates, the quote is worked out again and you're told — see When the customer sends the inventory.
Once the move is booked
The customer can't change the inventory on a Reserved or Booked move; their page tells them to contact their moving specialist. Change it yourself in the office — see Build an inventory in the office.
