Most two-bedroom apartments hold much the same things. A typical inventory is that list, kept by you, so a customer can start from it instead of from nothing.

Where it's used

On the customer's My Inventory page: the first time they open an empty inventory, a pop-up offers Use the typical list for their move size — room by room, with the items, cu ft and lbs — or Build my own list. Using it never lowers a number they already set. See How customers build their inventory.

The office's inventory editor doesn't offer the typical list; build from the catalog there, or use Create with AI.

Set it up

  1. Open Settings › Inventory › Typical inventory and pick the move type at the top.
  2. Switch on Use typical inventory.
  3. By room — pick a room and set its usual items: Add items, change quantities, drag to reorder.
  4. By move size — each size is filled from the room lists until you change it. Change anything and the size keeps its own copy. Reset to the room's list or Use the room lists again puts it back.
  5. Press Save.

Tips

  • Start from the room lists MoveBoard gives a new company, and adjust them to what your crews really see.
  • Keep boxes realistic — the boxes count drives the cubic feet more than any single item.
  • Check a size's totals line (items, boxes, cu ft, lbs) against your move size settings so a customer who uses the typical list gets a quote close to the one from the size alone.

Switching it off

With Use typical inventory off, customers aren't offered the lists. The lists are kept, dimmed, for when you switch it back on.
