Almost every automatic message is a workflow. A few aren't, and they keep going out the same way whether workflows are on or off. If you can't find a message in Settings › Communication › Workflows, it's probably one of these.
Storage messages that name their own template
Storage reminders, late-fee notices and declined-payment messages that are set up on the storage side with their own template keep sending from there. So does the storage bill's own email and text when a tenant is billed. Change them in Settings › Storage.
Payment receipts
The receipt a customer gets after a payment is sent by the payment itself, not by a workflow. Choose the receipt for each kind of payment in Settings › Payments & billing › Payment receipts.
Staff notifications
Messages to your own team — "New lead", "Booked online", "Cash collected", "Task for me" — come from each person's notification settings, not from Workflows. See Staff notifications.
A workflow can still tell a teammate something with its Tell a teammate step; that message then follows each person's own App / Email / Text choice.
Messages the office sends by hand
Anything someone sends from an order — an email, a text, the quote, an invoice — is sent right then by that person, not by a workflow. The two exceptions are Text link (the deposit link) and Request inventory (the inventory link): with workflows on, the built-in workflow sends them, once, at the press of the button.
Office-only reminders
The estimator's "in-home survey tomorrow" reminder and the office's "cash collected" message go to your staff, not the customer, so they aren't built-in workflows either.
