The card for your balance

The card that tops up your prepaid balance for texting and the AI receptionist — adding it, auto-recharge, and what happens after three declines.

Texting and the AI receptionist are paid from a prepaid balance. The balance is topped up from a card you keep on file with MoveBoard — your company's own card, separate from the card payments you take from customers.

Before you start

Open Settings › Payments & billing › Balance & usage. Anyone who can open Settings can use the page.

Add the card

  1. In Card on file, press Add Payment Method.
  2. Type the card in the secure form and save. The card is handled by the card company; MoveBoard keeps only its brand and last four digits.

You can replace or remove it later (Remove the card?).

One balance or two

Choose whether Texting and the AI receptionist share one balance, or use Separate Balances. Each balance tops up from the same card.

Top up and auto-recharge

  • Top up charges the card now — $25, $50, $100 or an amount from $5 to $5,000 — after Charge $…?.
  • Auto-recharge charges the card once whenever a balance drops below your minimum: set When the balance is below and Amount to charge, then Save.

At $0

A balance that reaches $0 pauses what it pays for — Services paused — top up to start again. Texts don't go out; the AI receptionist stops answering. They start again as soon as you top up.

A declined card doesn't stop the services by itself: they keep using what's left on the balance until it reaches $0.

Three declines

When auto-recharge is declined three times in a row, MoveBoard stops trying so the card isn't charged over and over. The card stays on file, marked Declined 3 times — update the card or top up, and your company is told the balance is low. Either:

  • add a new card, or
  • press Top up — a good charge on the card resets the count and switches auto-recharge back on.

See what you've spent

This month shows the spend by category — texts, number rental, call forwarding, AI minutes. History lists every charge and top-up. See Balance & usage.
