Leads from emails

MoveBoard doesn't read lead emails. Leads come in when a provider posts them — through the lead API or a provider connection like Angi. How to get an emailing provider connected.

MoveBoard does not read lead emails. A lead that only arrives in your inbox doesn't become an order by itself, and forwarding it to MoveBoard does nothing.

Leads come in on their own when the provider posts them to MoveBoard:

  • Angi (Angi Leads and Angi Ads) — sends its leads straight to your company. See Lead providers.
  • Any other provider or lead seller — posts its leads to MoveBoard's lead API. See Send leads by API.

Either way, each lead becomes a New order the moment it arrives, with the provider as its locked Source, and your team gets the New lead notification.

Connect a provider that emails you leads

Most lead sellers can post leads as well as email them. They may call it lead posting, API, webhook or HTTP post.

  1. Ask the provider whether they can post leads to your software.
  2. Ask the MoveBoard team for your company's lead address and the list of fields.
  3. Give those to the provider and ask them to send their leads there, with their own name as the provider.
  4. Look for the provider under Lead providers in Settings › Sales & orders › Lead sources. A provider listed there comes in under its own name, so your reports count its leads. A provider MoveBoard doesn't know comes in as Other — ask support to match it.

After the first lead arrives, open the order: the whole lead as received is in a sales note headed === EXTERNAL LEAD DETAILS ===.

A provider that can only email

Type each lead in yourself with + New › New Lead — see Create a new lead — and pick the provider in How did you hear about us? so your reports count it.
