On this page

Storage customers pay you every month, so bringing them over carefully matters: each needs the right rate and the right next billing date, so nobody is billed twice or missed.

There's no file import for storage tenants: each is added on the Storage page. For a long list, set aside time — or talk to Elromco support about help.

Before you start

  • Set up your warehouses in Settings › Storage › Facilities, with their units, and choose a default facility. See Facilities.
  • Set your storage payment rules (late fees, reminders) in Settings › Storage › Storage payments.
  • From your current software, list for each tenant: name, phone, email, units, monthly fee, the date they moved in, what they owe today, and the date their next bill is due.

Add each tenant

  1. Open Storage, choose the Storage Tenant view and press Add Storage Tenant.
  2. Fill in the customer, the units and the Monthly Fee, and the Move In Date.
  3. Put the customer's card on file and tick it as the autopay card — see Autopay and cards on file. (You can also send the customer their storage link to add a card themselves.)
  4. If they owe money today, add it as a charge on the Ledger, so the balance matches your previous records.
  5. Set Next Run to the date their next monthly bill is due, then start recurring billing. See Monthly storage billing.

The agreement

Tenants without a signed storage agreement show on Needs attention. Keep their old signed agreement as a file on the tenant, or have them sign yours. See The storage agreement.

Check

When you're done, compare the Storage page's tenant count and total monthly fees with your previous software, and look at Needs attention.
