Sell moving boxes and packing supplies on your website, in the customer portal and from the order. Your team delivers them, and the money is paid separately from the move.

Go to Settings › Services & packing › Box delivery. Everything is on the General tab. Press Save when you're done.

Switch it on

Turn on Box delivery on. The first time you do this, MoveBoard fills your catalog with a starter list: 10 boxes and supplies and 8 bundles. You can change, hide or delete any of them.

Box delivery is off for every company until you turn it on. While it's off, the website store says it's closed, the portal has no Boxes page, and the office can't book a box delivery.

Where prices come from

  • This price list: each item has its own price, which you set on the Catalog tab.
  • Packing materials: each item takes the local price of a packing material from Settings › Sales › Packing materials. On the Catalog tab you link each item to its material with Priced from. An item with no link isn't offered.

A bundle always has its own single price.

Delivery area

  • Farthest delivery: the most driving miles you'll go. Enter 0 for no limit.
  • Measured from: your office address, or another address you type, such as your warehouse.
  • ZIP codes always delivered to: these ZIP codes are accepted whatever the distance.

MoveBoard checks the customer's address against these rules as soon as it's known — on the portal, the move's own address when the box page opens; in a checkout, the address as soon as it's typed. If it's too far, Add to cart greys out and they see your Too far away words. Your phone number is added when those words don't already include one.

Fees

  • Delivery fee: $25 to start with.
  • Free delivery from: orders of this amount or more are delivered free. Enter 0 if delivery is never free based on the order amount.
  • Bundles ship free: any order that includes a bundle is delivered free.
  • Smallest order: the minimum order amount. Enter 0 for no minimum.

Your Credit Card Fee (Settings › Payments) and sales tax (Settings › Taxes) also apply to box sales. Customers see both before they pay.

Delivery windows, who delivers, reminders

  • Windows: the time slots the office books deliveries into. The starting slots are 2 hours each, from 8 AM to 8 PM. You also set how many deliveries each window takes, which days you deliver, and how soon after an order a delivery can happen.
  • Usually delivered by: the person picked first when the office books a delivery. People with the Box Delivery responsibility are listed first, then foremen and drivers. The office can give any delivery to someone else at any time.
  • Reminders: when to remind the customer and the person delivering, for example 1 day before at 8 AM.

The delivery-timing words customers read

Under Words customers read, Delivery timing is what customers read about how soon their boxes come — on your website store, in the customer portal's box shop and in the order emails.

  • Automatic (the start): the words are made from Order cut-off, Earliest delivery (before / after the cut-off) and Count business days only, and change the moment you change them. For example, a noon cut-off with 2 / 3 business days reads: “Order before noon for delivery within two business days; later orders arrive within three business days.”
  • Your own words: type in the box. Press a variable to put it in, so your words keep matching the numbers: {cutoff_time} (noon, 3 PM…), {days_before_cutoff}, {days_after_cutoff} and {business_days} (“business days”, or “days” when weekends count). Under the box you see what customers will read.
  • If your own words have no variables and you later change the cut-off or the days, a warning says they may no longer match, with Use the automatic wording to go back. Emptying the box also goes back to the automatic words.
